Leave the city behind and set off on a late-afternoon adventure into the stunning Agafay Desert, just under an hour’s drive from Marrakech. Your journey begins with a comfortable 4×4 pick-up from your hotel or riad, followed by a scenic drive through changing landscapes, from olive groves and rolling hills to traditional villages and wide-open plains.

As you approach Agafay, the terrain transforms into a striking rocky desert, often called the “stone desert”, a quiet, lunar-like landscape that offers all the magic of the Sahara without long travel time. Though there are no sand dunes, the golden light over the arid hills creates a truly mesmerizing atmosphere.

Upon arrival, enjoy a peaceful camel ride through the desert at sunset, as the sky shifts into shades of gold and pink. Take in the silence of the surroundings and the panoramic views of the distant Atlas Mountains.

In the evening, settle down for a traditional Moroccan dinner, either under a starlit sky or inside a cozy Berber tent, depending on the weather.
